變化

(變化, 变化)

To transform, change, change into, become, especially the mutation of Buddhas and (sa) bodhisattvas, e.g. [lang id =1028]變化人 becoming men; also [lang id =1028]變化土 the land where they dwell, whether the Pure Land or any impure world where they live for its enlightenment.

轉換舊形， 名為變， 無而忽有， 名為化。 佛菩薩之通力， 能變化有情非情之一切。 《法華經》曰： ‘神通變化不可思議。’ 《大乘法苑義林章》卷七曰： ‘轉換舊形名變， 無而忽有名化。 變與化異， 是相違釋。’

轉換舊的形狀叫做變， 由無而忽有叫做化。 變化是指佛菩薩的神通力能夠變化出種種的事物。
